Exceptional talent is the lifeblood of a successful game studio. With this in mind, Capcom Vancouver asked the creative team at Wallop to develop a site that – at its core – helped inform, educate and recruit potential talent.
With dozens of highly specialized skills involved in the production of a game, Capcom needed a platform to maximize career visibility, showcase Vancouver as a creative city, and ultimately attract new recruits to the organization.
The web is the candidate-facing side of the company and a medium that’s highly relevant to this demographic, so a strong web presence was critical in achieving their objective. It was our job to position the company as an industry leader among job candidates within a field that holds creativity and design acumen in high regard.
Working on a short timeline that needed to accommodate the company’s expansion into new digs, we designed and developed a site (with a mobile interface) featuring the cantilever technique that makes use of layered, animated visuals that change with the company’s focus.
We integrated the ICIMS careers portal to interface the system and delivered a custom CMS module to make the updating of the site easy for all non-technical staff.
The website features a robust studio and culture section to provide a knowledge base relevant to multiple career streams. It also utilizes a video testimonial format to leverage Capcom’s YouTube channel and help familiarize recruits with all facets of studio life.
The new Capcom Vancouver website was lauded by staff, management, job seekers and the gaming community, and attested by numerous industry publications and online portals.
